Baltimore Photography Prices.

Every rate on one page, because "inquire for pricing" is a decision you shouldn't need a meeting for.

These are Amy's real Baltimore photography prices, the same ones on her invoices: family sessions $500, couples $450, birthdays $400, business and events from $475. Most local photographers keep their numbers off the page; only a handful in this market publish anything. Amy publishes everything, add-ons and travel included, so you can price your session before you ever say hello.

The real answer

How Much Does aPhotographer Cost?

With Amy, a professional portrait session costs $400 to $500 depending on the type: birthdays $400, couples $450, and family sessions $500 including 30 edited images. Sessions run about an hour, so that's also her effective hourly answer, with planning and editing built into the number.

The honest version of "it depends" is that pricing follows the deliverable. A session fee covers three jobs, and the shoot is only one of them: the planning before, the direction during, and the editing after, which is the slowest part and the reason a gallery takes about a week. When you compare photographers in this market, compare what the number includes; a lower fee that delivers unedited files and no direction is a different product wearing the same word. That's most of what confusing photography pricing pages are hiding.

If you have to ask twice, it isn't a published price.

Add-Ons, Traveland Terms.

Add-ons exist so the base prices stay honest. A second backdrop, the maternity gown, extra people on a family session: each is a flat line item you choose on purpose, and none of them is required to get the session you came for. Travel works the same way, billed by distance in published tiers, with the first stretch at $30 and New York City trips quoted by inquiry.

Terms are short. A 30% deposit locks your photography date, the balance is due the day of the shoot, and the edited gallery lands in about a week with an under-5-day rush available by inquiry. The content side of her work is priced separately by deliverables; the numbers live with the social media content creation packages, and the project calculator on the homepage does the math live.

Money questions

Priced Out,Spelled Out.

What is a reasonable price for a photographer?

For a directed portrait session with edited images included, $400 to $500 is reasonable, and that's exactly where Amy's rates sit: birthdays $400, couples $450, family sessions $500 with 30 edited images. Unreasonable is usually a price with nothing attached; every number here says what it includes.

Is $100 an hour good for a photographer?

At $100 an hour you're usually getting a camera, not a service: no planning, light editing, few guarantees. A $400 to $500 session buys the planning conversation, an hour of direction, and dozens of individually edited images. Cheap per hour gets expensive per keeper.

How much should a 20 minute photoshoot cost?

Short mini sessions typically run a fraction of a full session's price, and Amy prices them seasonally when she runs them, like fall minis. For a guaranteed set of edited images and time to actually warm up, the $500 full hour is the better value for most families.

How much does it cost to hire a photographer for an event?

Business and special events with Amy start at $475 and are quoted by inquiry, because a one-hour launch party and a six-hour gala are different jobs. Send the date, the venue and the hours, and you'll get a real number before you commit to anything.

How much does a photographer cost for 2 hours?

For portrait work, two hours is usually two sessions' worth of coverage; with Amy that conversation starts around doubling the session rate, quoted plainly before booking. For events, two hours lands near the $475 starting point. Either way you'll know the exact figure up front.

Why do photography prices vary so much?

Because the deliverable varies. Some quotes are shoot-and-burn: files, no editing, no direction. Amy's include planning, posing direction through the whole session, and individually edited images, which is where the time actually goes. One edited gallery can take longer than the shoot itself.

Are there travel fees?

Only past the first radius. Travel is billed by distance: $30 for 15 to 20 miles, $50 for 20 to 30, $70 for 30 to 50, $90 beyond that, and 200-plus-mile trips, like New York City projects, are quoted by inquiry.

How do deposits and payments work?

Photography bookings take a 30% nonrefundable deposit to lock the date, with the balance due the day of the shoot. Content days lock with $200. Rates are flat and published, so the invoice matches the page you're reading.

How fast do photos arrive, and can I rush them?

About a week for the edited gallery, and under 5 days by inquiry if you're on a deadline. Tell Amy the date you need them when you book so the editing calendar is planned around it.

What add-ons can I choose?

Extra backdrops are $50, in black, pink, red or beige. The maternity dress rental is $60, in red, royal blue, light blue and pink across M through XL. Extra people beyond 4 on a family session are $40 each. Each add-on is a line item, never a surprise.

Do you price wedding photography?

By inquiry. Amy's portfolio includes wedding work, and every wedding quote is custom to the day, so reach out with your date and what you're planning and she'll talk it through with you.

What do content days cost?

A content day is $1,250 for the day, and edited videos are $150 each, so a day with 5 videos comes to $2,000 and a day with 10 comes to $2,750. The full breakdown lives with the social media content creation packages, since that side of her work is priced by deliverables.
